Event Planner – Ann Arbor, Michigan

Job Description:
We are looking for an individual whose core values align with ours! These core values define our culture and the way we do business. We want an individual who enjoys working with people and thrives on and enjoys multi-tasking. This position requires working with multiple non-profit associations. Responsible for overall event management.

Duties:

• Site selection of future conferences/ meetings/events
• Contractor selection, budgeting, management and contract negotiations (based on bids)
• Administration of housing block
• Exhibit and sponsorship sales
• Development of marketing materials for conferences/meetings/events
• Internal registration of attendees
• On-site operations that include registration, VIP management, breakout sessions, functions
• Strategic, operational, and budget planning/development and implementation
• Serves as primary liaison with internal and external parties
• Coordinate program development – conference theme, session selection, scheduling, and room assignments
• Coordinate special events, i.e., banquet
• Coordinate speaker recruitment

 

Skills/Qualifications:

• Prior experience managing all logistics of an event
• Familiar with accounting procedures and practices; understands budget development and management
• Prior database management experience
• Demonstrated organizational skills
• Customer service experience
• Ability to work with a diverse group of constituents
• Ability to work in a fast paced environment
• Must enjoy and be good at multitasking (working with multiple projects/people at the same time)

Events and Member Services Coordinator – Okemos

Job Description:
We are looking for an individual whose core values align with ours!   These core values define our culture and the way we do business. We want an individual who also enjoys working with people and thrives on and enjoys multi-tasking. This position requires working with multiple non-profit associations. The individual selected will work with the Executive Director, Board of Directors, committees and volunteers to help achieve their strategic goals and overall success of their association.

Duties:

  • Assist Executive Director
  • Support day-to-day operations (clerical/administrative)
  • Maintenance and support of web-based AMS (association management system)
  • Website maintenance
  • Provide support for multiple association events
  • Board and committee support
  • Membership – maintain membership database, member communications, work with Executive Director to execute membership plan.
  • Other duties as assigned

 

Skills/Qualifications:

  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Detailed-oriented guru!
  • Maintain positive internal and external relationships
  • Understands financial principles
  • Possesses excellent communication skills, both verbal and writing
  • Familiar with digital outlets, i.e., FaceBook, Twitter, LinkedIn
  • Experience with database management required
  • Some travel required

Education: Bachelor’s Degree
