Associate Director - Association of Technology, Management, and Applied Engineering

Dave joined UCI in 1998, after 13 years as a lawyer, in private and public practice and as a legal counsel and legislative aide in the Michigan House of Representatives. Dave has a prior background in community organizing, publications, and local politics, and served 7 years as a Washtenaw County Commissioners in the 1990s. Dave is a graduate of the University of Michigan and of Wayne State University Law School. He is a member of the Michigan Society of Association Executives.

Dave lives in Ann Arbor and is happily married to Anne Vanderkloot, a wonderful artist and elementary school art teacher, and has twins, Olivia and Quinn, entering college in Fall 2011. Dave enjoys cooking, rooting for the Detroit Tigers and the Michigan Wolverines (Go Blue!), umpiring ASA Softball, travel, reading science fiction and history, and the family dog, Leo. Dave rides his bike most days from home to the AMR office in Ann Arbor. 

Dave strives for a  high level of productivity, service and customer-orientation while managing many ATMAE projects (preferably one at a time!) Dave is the planner for ATMAE's annual conference, the publications editor and journal administrator, the financial reporter and accounts payable manager, and works with other ATMAE staff on member services, certification, marketing, website management, and board support.  Dave can be reached at  This e-mail address is being protected from spambots.
