Dave Monforton joined AMR in 1998, after 13 years of legal practice in the public and private sectors, including 9 years as a Legal Counsel in the Michigan House of Representatives. A graduate of the University of Michigan and of Wayne State University Law School, Dave has a background in community organizing, publications, and local politics, and served on the Washtenaw County Board of Commissioners in the 1990s.
A resident of Ann Arbor, Dave is happily married to Anne Vanderkloot, a wonderful artist and elementary school art teacher; their children, Olivia and Quinn, attend Michigan State University and the University of Illinois-Chicago. Dave enjoys cooking, gardening, travel, reading science fiction and history, and is a passionate fan of the Detroit Tigers and the Michigan Wolverines - Go Blue! Dave is also an American Softball Association (ASA) umpire, and officiates adult softball in the local area from May through October each year. Their family dog, Leo, walks Dave at least twice a day.
